My First Quarter Reflection
What are the Learnings/Discoveries that I have made?
I have gotten a deeper understanding and knowledge on topics and I have also learned new things about myself as a student. For one, I've realized that I learn better when I'm reciting what I say out loud and saying it out loud to someone else actually makes me remember it in my own head. I've also learned how to time-manage, balancing schoolwork with extracurricular activities and having some fun. One of the biggest things I've learned is how to take apart big, overwhelming projects into smaller chunks that are not quite so intimidating, which has made them less intimidating.
What are the problems/Challenges that I have encountered?
My biggest challenge this quarter was procrastination. I wait until the last minute to start assignments or do them while the teacher is collecting them pass it afterwards, which brought a lot of stress and sometimes even affected the quality of my work. Another significant challenge was multitasking responsibilities. With multiple big projects all having to be completed within the same time period and a full load outside of class, I had a hard time devoting each assignment the attention that it needed. This was also a time of getting used to a new schedule, and in the beginning, it was hard to manage my workable time and resting time because i didn't work at all.
How did I address these challenges?
To fix my procrastination, I started a planning.
I used alarms and calendars to plan my hours to study and do assignments. I started the habit of beginning a project on the day it was assigned even if it was only for short time like 15 minutes to make it less in the future.
And to address the challenge of multi tasking
I disciplined myself to prioritize and make a daily to-do list, writing down activities based on how important and how urgent they were. This allowed me to concentrate on what truly had to be accomplished and kept me from feeling distracted. I also asked for help when I needed it from classmates my parents or siblings.
Moving on I will...
I will continue with managing my time and avoid cramming to give more time for myself. Most importantly, I will take care of my wellbeing and mental health by taking regular breaks and taking proper rest because it is easier to learn when I have a healthy body and mind.
