Valentine’s Day is usually associated with romantic love, but its significance is much more than that. It is a reminder to show gratitude to family, friends, and the community and the people you love. In many countries, including the Philippines, people celebrate it in simple ways, such as holding a gathering, giving gifts, or doing something kind or somthing very kind. The essence of the day is not about value but about connection. Valentine’s Day has been criticized by some as being too commercialized. The advertisements of stores for flowers and chocolates encourage people to spend money instead of focusing on the feelings. The essence of the day, however, is simple: to show care and gratitude. The term “Intayon” is a phrase that means “let's go.” This is an expression of unity and togetherness. The different government units come together to showcase their culture, products, and traditions in one celebration. This promotes unity and not rivalry trust not betrayal and equal amounts of pride and joy. Strip dancing and cultural shows are the main attractions of this event. The dancers wear colorful costumes that are inspired by history and livelihood. Every municipality shows what makes them different, unique and special whether it is their agricultural products, weaving, or their coastal resources. This event enhances cultural pride and tourism.
